What is an e-Invoice, and how does it differ from traditional invoicing?
An e-Invoice is a digital invoice that is validated by the Inland Revenue Board of Malaysia (IRBM) before being shared with customers. It replaces paper and electronic invoices, and includes a Unique Identifier Number generated by IRBM, and a QR code for buyers to view the e-Invoice validity.
When will e-Invoicing be implemented to Mudah.my's customers?
Mudah.my will implement e-Invoicing starting January 1, 2025, for customers with transactions on our platform.
Is there a cut-off date to request for an e-Invoice?
The cut-off date to request for an e-Invoice is the last day of the month of the transaction. If the e-invoice is not requested by the end of the month, Mudah.my reserves the right to reject the request.
Why is Mudah.my switching to e-Invoicing?
e-Invoicing is a unified invoicing process launched by the Inland Revenue Board of Malaysia (IRBM) which aims to improve business efficiency and increase tax compliance. Mudah.my is required to implement e-Invoicing by January 1, 2025, as part of the national rollout based on turnover thresholds.
How will this impact my current invoicing process?

How do I request an e-Invoice for my transactions, and what information do I need to provide?
For PRO Niaga users:
You can request for it via the PRO Niaga dashboard > Credits > Invoices > Request e-Invoice. You will then receive an email with a downloadable PDF (e-Invoice) within 1 day. You will need to provide information such as your full name as per registered documents, IC number/Business Registration Number, Tax Identification Number (TIN), SST number (if applicable), address, contact number, and the order number.
To ease the process for future transactions, navigate to Credits > E-Invoice and select “Automate your e-Invoice” so you won't need to fill in your details again.
For Private users:
You can request for it via the access link in the Premium Services purchase receipt sent to your email. You will then receive an email with a downloadable PDF (e-Invoice) within 1 day.
You will be required to provide information such as your full name as per registered documents, IC number/Business Registration Number, Tax Identification Number (TIN), SST number (if applicable), address, contact number, and the order number.

How will I know that my e-Invoice is valid?
Each e-Invoice will be validated by the Inland Revenue Board of Malaysia (IRBM) and will contain a Unique Identifier Number and a QR code that can be used to verify its authenticity.
Do I need to take any action for this transition?
For PRO Niaga users:
You will be required to update the necessary details in your PRO Niaga account. Kindly provide a valid email address to receive the validated e-Invoice.
For Private users:
No action is required to prepare for this transition. When you make a transaction with Mudah.my, you can request for an e-Invoice via the access link in the Premium Services purchase receipt sent to your email.
What if I don’t receive my e-Invoice after I have made a request?
For PRO Niaga users:
In the event you do not receive an e-Invoice, please login to your PRO Niaga dashboard > Credits > Invoices to retrieve it. During the implementation phase, there may be delays or issues with the generation of validated e-Invoices. We appreciate your patience and understanding.
For Private users:
In the event you do not receive an e-Invoice, please reach out to our Customer Support team. During the implementation phase, there may be delays or issues with the generation of validated e-Invoices. We appreciate your patience and understanding.
If I do not receive an e-Invoice, can I issue a self-billed e-Invoice to myself?
No, the issuance of a self-billed e-Invoice is only permitted for circumstances that are provided under Section 8.3 of the e-Invoice Specific Guideline.
Will e-Invoicing affect my payments?
No, there will be no changes to the payment method and process.
Can I still request a physical copy of my invoice?
Once you request for an e-Invoice and it has been validated by the Inland Revenue Board of Malaysia (IRBM), you may download it via the PDF file attached in the email and print it
Are there any additional fees for e-Invoicing?
No, there are no additional fees.
What if I need help understanding my e-Invoice?

Is my invoice data secure?
Yes, your invoice data is securely stored and transmitted. Mudah.my takes data privacy and security seriously, and we comply with all relevant regulations to protect your information.
Can the e-Invoice be sent to multiple emails?
No, the e-Invoice can only be sent to your designated email address.
Are there any industries exempted for e-Invoicing?
Currently, there are no industries exempted from the e-Invoice implementation. However, certain persons and types of income and expenses are exempted from e-Invoice implementation. For more information, please refer to Section 1.6 of the e-Invoice Guideline for further details.
